University of Pennsylvania, a private Ivy League research university, is situated in the West Philadelphia's University City. It's spectacular 302 acre urban campus caught me by surprise. Students apply to one of four undergraduate schools- Arts and Sciences, Nursing, Engineering and Applied Science, or Wharton School of Business. Of the nearly 10,000 undergrads, 81% of the students are from out of state. Nursing students can expect to acquire 800 clinical hours in 4 years. Penn's competitive Dual Degree Program allows a student to receive two bachelor's degrees simultaneously, from two separate schools of the University. Penn's academic and research programs are led by a large and highly productive faculty.
