Marquette University, Milwaukee WI


Marquette University is a private Jesuit institution located in the heart of Milwaukee with 8100 undergraduates (5531 from out of state). They offer 90 different majors with humanities, dentistry, PT, biomedical, nursing (direct admit), journalism and business being the most popular. Students take a core curriculum but also begin taking classes in their major of study freshman year to see if they like the area of study or not. It is a service oriented campus with 95% of the students involved in activities on or around campus. Lake Michigan is only 1.5 miles from campus. The OPUS College of Engineering offers 6 areas, including construction engineering, and offer a COOP program (5 year program) where students alternate going to school and working (16 months). College of Educationstudents graduate with a teaching certificate in 4 years. Their strategic communications major is business oriented and students can combine the degree with a minor in marketing from the business school.
