Ripon College- Wisconsin

Ripon College was the smallest school we visited with only 840 students. It is the birthplace of the Republican Party! However, the students we spoke to love the college and are extremely involved! There are 60 student organizations, 5 fraternities, and 3 sororities. Athletics has a huge presence with 35%-40% participation. Track and swimming are non-cut sports. For students who are struggling emotionally or academically, faculty sets up a meeting to develop a plan to support the student. A recent development at Ripon is their new Core Curriculum called "Catalyst" Students take 5 semester- long seminars which center around collaboration, quantitative competence, writing, reading, and diversity. Junior year, students work in teams of 6-8 to work on a problem and then present their solution to the community.
