University of Puget Sound- Tacoma, WA


University of Puget Sound is located in Tacoma, WA just 35 miles south of Seattle in the residential North End neighborhood near shopping, downtown, and a spectacular waterfront. UPS is one of 40 colleges included in Colleges That Change Lives. With 2,600 undergraduates, the average class size is 11:1. 78% of the student population is from outside Washington state with 38% from California. Biology, followed by business and psychology, are the most popular majors. Princeton Review ranks UPS among the top 20 in the nation for “best science lab facilities.” Students must live on campus for 2 years and approximately 90% receive some sort of financial and/or merit aid. Freshmen take 2 semester seminars exploring an area of interest to sharpen their persuasive argument skills. In less than a 2 hour drive, students can explore two ski areas, two national parks and multiple wilderness areas.
